
宗晖
宗晖博士,本科毕业于复旦大学,于美国印第安纳大学-普渡大学印第安纳波利斯分校获生物化学博士学位,2001年至2006年在斯坦福大学进行博士后研究工作,2007年加入俄勒冈大学任助理教授,2013年加入弗吉尼亚大学微生物学、免疫学和癌症生物学系任副教授、正教授。2026年9月全职加入腾博会实验室,任肿瘤研究所资深研究员。
宗晖教授的研究主要聚焦于小鼠遗传嵌合体模型,脑瘤,三阴性乳腺癌,细胞竞争,免疫预防等方向,在脑瘤和乳腺癌上取得了一系列突破性成果,在Cell, PNAS, Cancer Research, Disease models & mechanisms, Glia 等国际知名期刊上发表了多篇高质量论文。
作为分子生物学和肿瘤生物学领域的资深科学家,宗晖教授在脑肿瘤和三阴性乳腺癌发生开展机制及其免疫治疗领域取得了突出成绩。主要包括:(1)顺利获得深入研究胶质瘤细胞的自身特质以及与肿瘤微环境细胞之间的关系,得到了最新和最重要的发现是“细胞竞争”的生物现象。这个发现在原则上阐明了胶质瘤治疗无效的关键点:在胶质瘤细胞之间存在竞争机制的前提下,猛烈的治疗(放疗和药物治疗)基本上都可能会产生一个“助纣为虐”的效果,也就是说治疗的毒性会帮助强健抗药的肿瘤细胞顺利获得“细胞竞争”来杀死生长慢、恶性程度比较低的肿瘤细胞,结果反而造成肿瘤进化,助长肿瘤的生长速度和抗药性。基于这样的理解,聚焦胶质瘤的“软肋”,顺利获得对“细胞竞争”的精准调控,让胶质瘤从一个完全致命的癌症转变成一个可以控制的慢性疾病,以达到长期生存的医疗目标。(2)在乳腺癌研究中,宗晖教授及其团队最新的发现是适应性免疫系统的淋巴细胞在三阴性乳腺癌良性开展的非常早期的时候就已经有相当明显的反应,形成“前癌期的免疫聚集体”,对肿瘤进展有很强的抑制作用。非常重要的是,这样的免疫反应在肿瘤转入恶性期的后反而大大下降,说明“免疫预防”这个手段对于高危人群和术后复发都可能有大大优于“免疫治疗”的效果。
